The idea of a “last chance” to have an empowered attack (often just referred to as a “chunk’a health”) is not an unfamiliar one to anime fighting fans. It’s a very simple yet potentially game-changing mechanic. You are also able to extend combos by sacrificing some health, or make a surprise MP gauge recovery by edging yourself closer to death. If you can sacrifice a little more of your health bar, you receive more MP in return. With a tap of a button, you can turn all of the white damage you’re carrying into red, in exchange for an MP boost. The initial roster for the game includes 16 playable characters, one which you can unlock through playing the game.ĭNF Duel’s Risk and Reward Mechanic is called Conversion. The bar will be gone after using each skill, but it’ll start to refill if you don’t use any skills for a while. One BIG difference in this game is the MP Bar, which allows you to use Skills that are similar to those in the main series games. It’s not overly complicated for those who are new to the genre. The gameplay of this newest Arc System Works title is similar to fighters found in the last few years, but there are some simplified mechanics for newcomers. It is a spin-off of Dungeon and Fighter series which was released for Windows on 28 July 2015.
